Hakone is located to the west of Tokyo, inside the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, and is a mountain town known for its hot spring resort and spectacular views of Mt. Fuji. The town features Mt. Hakone Shrine, known for its red torii gate standing on the shore of Lake Ashi, and the Owakudani sulfur springs, which vent sulfur into the air, as well as sightseeing boat tours on Lake Ashi. With its many famous hot springs, museums, cedar-lined streets, and stone-paved paths, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy yourself in Hakone's magnificent natural environment.
